Harry Kane's record vs. Leicester City

Ahead of Tottenham Hotspur's Premier League clash with Leicester City, Sports Mole takes a look at Harry Kane's goalscoring record against the Foxes.

Tottenham Hotspur can temporarily rise into the top four of the Premier League table when they take on Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The fifth-placed Lilywhites kick off two and a half hours before Newcastle United - who are one point better off - face Bournemouth, but the Magpies also boast a game in hand.

Antonio Conte is expected to return to the dugout following gallbladder surgery, which left him unable to take charge of last weekend's 1-0 win over champions Manchester City.

Harry Kane's record-breaking 267th goal for the club propelled Tottenham to victory last Sunday, and the 29-year-old has a penchant for making the net ripple against Leicester.

Here, Sports Mole takes a closer look at Kane's record against the Foxes ahead of Saturday's clash at the King Power Stadium.

Kane was previously on the books at Leicester during a brief loan spell in 2013, but the Foxes have since become the England captain's favourite opponent to play against.

In 19 appearances across all competitions, Kane has scored a staggering 20 goals and set up five more, including 18 strikes from 15 Premier League appearances for Tottenham.

Kane's propensity for goals against Leicester actually started while he was on loan at Millwall during the 2011-12 Championship season, where he scored and provided an assist in a 2-1 victory at The Den.

The 29-year-old's first two Premier League appearances against Leicester were also memorable affairs, as he scored four goals across their pair of meetings in 2014-15, including a hat-trick at White Hart Lane in a 4-3 victory.

Kane did not contribute to a goal against Leicester in their title-winning 2015-16 season, but he returned with a bang with four goals and an assist in a 6-1 thrashing of the Foxes in May 2017.

Since the start of the 2017-18 season, Kane has only failed to score in two of his 10 Premier League clashes with Leicester, missing a 3-1 home win in 2019 due to an ankle injury.

The Three Lions skipper has netted four goals in his last four league games against the Foxes - in addition to three assists - with Tottenham winning all four of those matches, including a 6-2 thumping at home in September.

Another slice of Premier League history beckons for Kane this weekend, as the striker needs just two more goals to equal Alan Shearer's record for the most against a single opponent in the Premier League.

While Kane has 18 top-flight strikes against Leicester, Shearer scored 20 Premier League goals against Leeds United, but the Newcastle United legend will be fearing for his all-time Premier League top scorer label - as well as the single opponent accolade - should Kane stay loyal to Spurs and continue scoring at the same prolific rate.
