Tottenham Hotspur team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Manchester City

Sports Mole rounds up Tottenham Hotspur's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Thursday's Premier League clash with Manchester City.
Sports Mole

Facing a second Premier League contest against a top-two side in the space of a week, Tottenham Hotspur make the journey to the Etihad to meet Manchester City on Thursday night.

Antonio Conte's side were deservedly beaten 2-0 in Sunday's North London derby, with Hugo Lloris's own goal preceding a Martin Odegaard strike in the first half.

The Lilywhites have lost ground in the top-four race as a result, currently occupying fifth place in the table and five points behind Manchester United, who have a game in hand.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Tottenham's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their clash with the champions, who lost their own derby 2-1 to Manchester United at the weekend.

Rodrigo Bentancur

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Groin
Possible return date: January 19 (vs. Man City)

Rodrigo Bentancur is still waiting for his first post-World Cup game for Tottenham after picking up a groin injury in Qatar. The Uruguay international was not risked for the North London derby, but Conte is confident that he will be available to face the champions.

Lucas Moura

Status: Out
Type of injury: Tendon
Possible return date: Unknown

Lucas Moura - who will leave Tottenham when his contract expires in the summer - has been plagued by a tendon problem during his farewell season, and the Brazilian attacker will miss out once again.
