Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Oliver Skipp has reportedly suffered a setback in his recovery from a groin injury.
The 21-year-old has been in the treatment room since January with the issue and has now missed Spurs' last 10 matches in the Premier League amid his lengthy layoff.
Antonio Conte claimed that Skipp was "very, very close" to returning to the fold last week, with Saturday's meeting against Aston Villa pencilled in as a potential comeback date.
However, the Evening Standard now reports that Skipp has reported soreness in his pelvis and has been sent back indoors for training after spending two days out on the grass.
The report adds that Skipp is now certain to sit out the clash with Steven Gerrard's men, and it is unclear when the England Under-21 international will be available for selection again.
Skipp has provided two assists in 51 appearances for the Lilywhites so far and is reportedly on the verge of signing a new four-year deal in North London. body check tags ::
