Tottenham Hotspur attacker Richarlison is reportedly expected to miss around four weeks of action due to the hamstring injury he picked up against Aston Villa.

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly learned how long Richarlison will be out for with the hamstring injury he suffered in Sunday's 4-1 Premier League win over Aston Villa.

The Brazil international made an immediate impact off the bench against Unai Emery's side, making a driving run into the box and teeing up Dominic Solanke to score his second of the match.

However, amid the celebrations, Richarlison was seen hunched over in pain holding his leg, and the 27-year-old then had to be substituted himself in the closing stages of the match.

Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou confirmed after the game that the luckless South American had felt a tweak in his hamstring, although he was still in the dark about the severity of the problem.

Richarlison suggested in an Instagram post on Wednesday morning that he would be out for some time, writing: "Difficult moment that will be overcome again. Was very happy training and playing and suddenly the injury comes again. Hard to talk at a time like this. I only ask that you pray for me and that God gives me protection."

Richarlison 'to miss at least four weeks' with hamstring injury

According to journalist and Tottenham expert Paul O Keefe, Richarlison is expected to spend at least four weeks recovering from his latest problem, meaning that he will not return to action until early December.

The striker's latest hamstring problem is another blow to his stuttering Tottenham career, which has never really got going ever since his £60m move from Everton in 2022, when he joined for an initial £50m with a further £10m in add-ons.

Richarlison missed the whole of September with an unspecified injury sustained in training and has been restricted to just seven appearances in all tournaments this season, scoring one goal and providing one assist.

The former Watford man also missed 10 matches last season due to four separate injuries - two knee problems, a hamstring issue and a groin operation - and he joins fellow hamstring victims Micky van de Ven and Wilson Odobert on the sidelines.

Spurs are also said to be assessing Cristian Romero after a toe injury forced him off against Aston Villa, while Djed Spence is touch-and-go for Thursday's clash with Galatasaray due to a groin concern.

Which Tottenham games will Richarlison miss?

Assuming Richarlison is set to miss the rest of November with his fresh hamstring injury, the 27-year-old will be absent for at least four matches, starting with Thursday's Europa League trip to Galatasaray.

Postecoglou will also have to make do without the South American for Sunday's Premier League clash with Ipswich Town, as well as the daunting trip to Manchester City on November 23 and a headline Europa League clash with Roma on November 28.

Richarlison will likely be cutting it close for the London derby with Fulham on December 1 and the visit to Bournemouth on December 5, although he could target a comeback for when Chelsea visit the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on December 8.

The Spurs attacker would have also been unavailable for Brazil's World Cup qualifiers against Venezuela and Uruguay later this month, although he was not included in Dorival Junior's squad anyway and has not played for his country since October 2023.

Richarlison has scored 16 goals and set up nine more in 73 games for Spurs, who sit seventh in the Premier League table and second in the 36-team Europa League rankings. body check tags ::
