Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Harry Winks has been classed as doubtful for England's upcoming friendly internationals after picking up an injury during his side's 1-0 win over Crystal Palace in the Premier League.
The midfielder twisted his ankle during the match at Wembley Stadium, forcing manager Mauricio Pochettino to replace him with Mousa Dembele at half time.
"He twisted his ankle. It's a little bit painful," the Spurs boss told reporters.
"We must assess him with our medical staff and with the national team medical staff too. He's so excited to play for the national team. I don't know [if he can play]. It's about him and both [teams of] medical staff."
The news of Winks's injury comes as a further blow for England boss Gareth Southgate ahead of the Three Lions' friendly matches against Germany and Brazil.
The youngster's Spurs teammate Dele Alli has also been forced to withdraw from the squad through injury.
