Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas believes that he has "great strength in depth" after tonight's 4-0 thrashing of Aston Villa in the League Cup.
AVB made eight changes to his starting XI, but Spurs were dominant throughout and scored three goals in the second half.
"We've shown a great team spirit this year. The players are all buzzing for opportunities like this so most of them really performed tonight," he told BBC Sport.
"We have great strength in depth so it allows us to throw such a strong team on the pitch after playing just two days ago.
"The best thing about this evening is that the players who came in responded well and respected the competition."
Earlier today, AVB complained that the Villa match was "impossible", citing the fact that it came just 48 hours after the win against Cardiff City on Sunday.
However, he says that he only ever wanted the match to be moved to Wednesday night.
He added: "I didn't complain about the fixture pile up, I just said this game should have been played tomorrow.
"It was difficult for us but the squad really performed today. Hopefully if we can get the calendar right, we'll be given the possibility to play on a Wednesday. If that happens we can be in contention."
Spurs play Chelsea on Saturday in the London derby.
