Paul Lambert has ruled striker Christian Benteke out of Aston Villa's Capital One Cup meeting with Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday night.
A hip concern forced the Belgian off in the first half of Villa's 1-0 victory over Norwich City this weekend, with his replacement and new £7m-man Libor Kozak coming off the bench to score the winner.
"We are waiting for the scan today and then waiting for the results so we will just have to wait and see (how long he will be out for)," manager Lambert said on the club's website.
"I've got to make changes for tomorrow, that's for sure, because I've got a lot of injuries at the minute and Saturday's [game against Manchester City] is massive for us as well."
Benteke, 22, has scored five goals in six appearances for Villa so far this season.
