Is it Spurs' year? It might very well be, my friends. So far, the Lilywhites have passed most tests that have been thrown at them in this gripping Premier League title race - and here comes another one. Okay so Bournemouth are hardly Barcelona, but they do bring a three-match winning streak with them to White Hart Lane. Make no bones about it - the Cherries are a threat, and the pressure is heaped on this evening's hosts. It's simple: win and they close the gap from leaders Leicester City to five points. Lose and, well, the gap remains eight points and the dream of a first league title since 1961 would grow significantly more doubtful.

Tottenham's elimination from the Europa League should, in theory, make it easier to win the title, given there's less goals to focus on, but let's see how they get on this evening. As we said, it may only be Bournemouth, at White Hart Lane, but only a fool would classify this as a banker. Let's hope for Spurs' sake that Mr Mauricio Pochettino isn't taking them lightly.

Shall we crack on with a bit of teams news? Why the flip not.

Let's start with Tottenham and pretty much full strength, with the exception of Jan Vertonghen. The impressive Kevin Wimmer continues to deputise for him alongside Toby Alderweireld in the middle of defence. Further forward, Moussa Dembele and Eric Dier sit in the middle of midfield, with Alli slightly ahead of both. He plays in behind in-form Harry Kane - who scored twice in last week's 2-0 win over Villa.

On to our friends from the South Coast now and Eddie Howe continues with ex-Arsenal man Benik Afobe up top, along with Joshua King. Max Gradel and Harry Arter are deployed either side of them, with Matt Ritchie and Andrew Surman in the centre. It's the same back four that impressed so often in recent weeks, with Charlie Daniels at left-back as he hopes to improve his outside chances of reaching Euro 2016.

DID YOU KNOW? This is only the second ever meeting between both sides. Like, ever. The first came in an FA Cup tie way back in 1957, which Bournemouth won, but Spurs would have their revenge - albeit 58 years later. Pochettino's men thumped the Cherries 5-1 in the reverse fixture at Dean Court earlier this season.

Spurs hitman Harry Kane netted a hat-trick in that 5-1 demolition. He's successfully proving that he was no one-hit wonder following his 31-goal from last term. He has netted 19 Premier League goals, taking him level with Jamie Vardy in the race for the golden boot, but Kane will have his eyes on a much bigger, much more important trophy at the end of the season: the Premier League.

Speaking of Kane - eight goals in his last nine Premier League games, by the way - here he is leading Spurs out for the pre-match warm-up, with the Pulp Fiction soundtrack blaring out at the Lane.

Speaking of Tarantino films, Spurs have had a perfect blend of style and substance this season and their fans will be hoping to see more of the same ruthlessly brilliant entertainment this afternoon. As we said, they should win, but games like this, at this stage of the season, have often proved banana skins.

Well I never. It turns out hip-hop legend/lyrical genius Lupe Fiasco is a Spurs fan. Who knew? I did, because I saw something on it last week, but I didn't think he was serious. He is. Okay so he isn't making his way down the Seven Sisters as we speak, but he's there in spirit.

Let's hope the Spurs players give Bournemouth more respect than Andy has done here.

There's some 15-year-old boy in a Bournemouth tracksuit sitting in Eddie Howe's seat in the dugout. Wait that's actually Eddie Howe. Is Benjamin Button based on his life?

KICKOFF: And we're off. 'Come on you Spurs' echoes around White Hart Lane. The fans know how big this is.

Okay so this is a pretty impressive start. We flagged him before the game as a danger man, and Kane has justified that highlight. It's a clever ball from Lloris who finds Walker, whose excellent ball is fabulously converted by the 22-year-old striker. What a fantastic opening.

Wee bit of promise from Bournemouth through King, who pulls off a Ronaldo chop to make a bit of space for himself, but he runs straight into the brick wall that is Toby Alderweireld. Ominously for the Cherries, Spurs have the best defence in the Premier League.

Spurs are playing some fantastic stuff it must be said. Pressure? What pressure says Tottenham, who look totally unfazed about the importance of this. They're just going about their job in a very professional manner.

Dele Alli has looked excellent so far and this is a fine cross, but Kane flicks it well wide of Artur Boruc's goal.

Smith heads behind for a Spurs corner following Eriksen's delightful diagnol ball. Every player in white has looked very sharp early doors. It's not encouraging for the Cherries.

Amazing. Just amazing. It's 2-0 at the Lane as Alli splits Bournemouth's defence with a fine ball which finds the run of Kane, who confidently fires left footed past Boruc from the edge of the box. That's his 21st league goal of the season.

SHOT! Spurs' tails are certainly up as Eriksen blazes over from an acute angle. Bournemouth's defensive line is just ridiculously high. Spurs are getting through at will. Howe will need to fix this before it gets embarrassing.

Bournemouth have done a little better but they can't get the ball up to Afobe. He's been gobbled up at every opportunity by Alderweireld, to the point where I feel quite sorry for him.

Tottenham are about as cool as Fonzie today; passing out of defence with the nonchalance of a Barcelona. It's really quite impressive. Worryingly for the visitors, Spurs aren't even in top gear.

Fifteen minutes to go until the break and it's such a long way back for Bournemouth, who may have to switch from their 4-4-2 system because it's just not working.

SHOT! Danny Rose volleys into the side netting. Again, just too easy for Spurs to fashion that half chance.

Eriksen fizzes a brilliant free kick into the box, but it's blocked by his own player Eric Dier. Not to worry - there'll be more chances to add a third. I wouldn't say it's imminent, but I wouldn't be surprised if it came before the break.

Ugh, Bournemouth have a corner, which they take short, but Arter then floats it back into the box, though there's nobody there to connect with it. So poor. If Bournemouth were a dog you'd shoot them.

OFFSIDE GOAL! Dele Alli finishes a Harry Kane flick, but it's chalked off for offside. I'd be interested to see it again because it would've been very close.

OVER THE BAR! This is half a chance for Bournemouth as captain Cook heads over the crossbar from a free kick. He might've done better there you know. All they need is a goal to give them a bit of belief, but getting that could prove a little tricky.

HALF TIME: Spurs 2-0 Bournemouth That's all she wrote in this half, folks. Harry Kane's double inside 15 minutes - the first of which came after 44 seconds - has given them a comfortable lead. Spurs are in cruise control. Don't be surprised if it ends up four or five, but Eddie Howe has a big team talk and he'll need to change his tactics. 4-4-2 isn't working.

DOUBLE SUB: We said the Cherries need something different, and Howe has thrown on O'Kane and Grabban for the second half. Afobe is one of those who has gone off - I didn't see the second unfortunately. And we're back underway.

CHANCE! It's almost game over as the brilliant Kane plays in Walker, who drills just wide of Boruc's goal. Very much as you were then.

Bournemouth have been a little better in this half. Lewis Grabban's arrival seems to have given them a little bit of a lift, but it'll count for nothing if they go and concede a third which, as we've seen, is very possible. It'll be interesting if Bournemouth score the next goal.

That's that then! Kane's long-range effort is fumbled by Boruc, but Eriksen is on hand to tap into an empty net. So simple, but so effective. Tottenham aren't waving a white flag in this title race as the fans sing 'Leicester City - we're coming for you'.

YELLOW CARD: First booking of the evening then as Simon Francis picks up a yellow card for a silly foul on Kane.

We've reached the hour mark. Any way back for Bournemouth? You must be joking. They've had one chance, and it wasn't even that much of a chance. This'll end up four or five.

Looks like Lamela is coming off, which isn't a surprise because that's literally the first time we've mentioned his name this evening.

This is a bit worrying as Kevin Wimmer, who has been deputising for the injured Jan Vertonghen, as he goes down injured and he looks in some discomfort, but he's on his feet now.

Wimmer's back on. Crisis averted.

SUB: Erik Lamela is hauled off for Tom Carroll, who made his senior debut against Bournemouth during his loan spell at Leyton Orient in 2011.

SUB: Bournemouth make their last sub now as Marc Pugh comes on for Max Gradel, who didn't do much let's be honest.

This has been a little boring in the last five minutes or so. Spurs have taken their foot off the grass considerably. It's been a training exercise - nothing more.

SHOT! Pretty sure this is the first shot since Eriksen's goal, as Dier's tame effort trickles wide with the speed of a tumbleweed after a bad joke.

CHANCE! Great work by Eriksen here, moving in between two pink shirts before pulling back for Dele, who has his head in his hands after having an air shot from six yards out.

SAVE! Decent stop from Boruc who denies Spurs a fourth by keeping out Mason, who replaced Alli a few minutes ago.
