Tottenham Hotspur striker Emmanuel Adebayor has been given permission to return to Togo for "personal reasons".
The 30-year-old will therefore miss the Europa League visit to Besiktas on Thursday, and is also unlikely to feature against Swansea City on Sunday.
Spurs have refused to confirm the details behind Adebayor's leave, insisting that it is a "private matter."
The former Arsenal and Manchester City forward has scored twice in 12 games for Tottenham this season.
He has not played since the 2-1 defeat to Stoke City on November 9, after which he criticised the White Hart Lane crowd for creating a negative atmosphere at home games.
