Antonio Conte has reportedly been offered a contract worth £15.5m per year to become the new head coach of Tottenham Hotspur.
After just 17 games in charge, Nuno Espirito Santo was removed from his position on Monday after overseeing five defeats in 10 Premier League fixtures.
Reports quickly emerged that Spurs have made another approach for Conte, despite the Italian rejecting the chance to move to North London during the summer.
On this occasion, however, it appears that chairman Daniel Levy is on the brink of getting his man after rapid negotiations with the former Juventus, Chelsea and Inter Milan boss.
According to the Daily Mail, the 52-year-old is on the brink of penning a contract worth over £1m per month.
Barring any unforeseen obstacles, Conte could take charge of training on Tuesday having already arrived in England's capital.
The likely appointment comes just three days before Spurs are in action against Vitesse in the Europa Conference League. body check tags ::
