Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has expressed his delight at his side's 2-1 win at Southampton on Sunday.
Gareth Bale and Clint Dempsey got the goals for the visitors at St Mary's as they moved up to fourth place in the Premier League table.
"It was a great win for us, particularly on a weekend when most of the top teams played each other," Villas-Boas told Sky Sports News.
"We showed our technical ability in the first half and our desire in the second half to take the result. It was an important win for us."
Next up for Spurs is a trip to Norwich City in the fourth round of the Capital One Cup on Wednesday.
