Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has described his side's 1-1 draw with Manchester United on Sunday as an 'important result' in their quest for Champions League football.
Robin van Persie looked to have given United the victory at White Hart Lane with his first-half header, but Clint Dempsey struck deep into injury time to earn the hosts a point.
"I think the boys have embraced the spirit that we want to be in the Champions League next year, and you need to amass as many points as possible," Villas-Boas told Sky Sports News.
"We wanted to win, but it was an important point in the end due to the form United are in. A point can give us a lot of confidence."
The draw has seen Spurs remain in fourth place in the Premier League table.
