Lille midfielder Joe Cole has said that Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Redknapp is "the right man" to take over as the next England manager.
Cole, who starred under Redknapp during his time at West Ham United, insists that the Spurs boss has both the appropriate amount of experience and commands the right amount of respect that is needed for the job.
"There's many facets to being a good football manager," he told The Sun. There's many different facets to being a good international manager.
"For me he ticks all the boxes on both counts.
"He's seen everything in football that can be thrown at him. He's got the press behind him. He's the right man to take over and I hope he does."
Cole, who has not been picked for England since the 2010 World Cup, has won 56 caps in his career.
