Tottenham Hotspur captain Michael Dawson has revealed that he was delighted to be offered a new contract by the club.
The defender, 29, recently signed a three-year extension with the Premier League side.
Dawson's new deal at White Hart Lane is due to expire in 2016.
"I was delighted to be offered the new deal," he told the club's official website. "I thank the chairman, the gaffer and now I've got to go out there, play well and try to repay them.
"It's a great football club to be at. I love the club, love the fans, I loved the welcome I received when I first arrived."
Dawson joined Tottenham from Nottingham Forest in 2005.
