Tottenham Hotspur defender Michael Dawson is out for two months because of an achilles injury, according to Sky Sports News.
The 27-year-old picked up the injury in training last week.
Spurs have been plagued in the centre-back area recently, with William Gallas missing because of injury and Ledley King also struggling to consistently make appearances.
King did feature in Saturday's 2-0 victory over Wolves but has traditionally been unable to maintain his fitness.
Sebastian Bassong, who seemed set to leave White Hart Lane during the summer transfer window, is now likely to feature alongside King and Younes Kaboul in the heart of the Spurs' defence.
