Brad Friedel is expected to be given an award by the Premier League this weekend to mark his record-breaking 300th consecutive appearance.
The goalkeeper will claim the Merit Award if he features for Tottenham Hotspur at Queens Park Rangers later today (Saturday).
The 40-year-old started his run of matches while at Blackburn Rovers in 2004.
Friedel, who is the league's oldest player, has said that a regime of yoga has helped him to stay fit as he enters middle age.
