Former West Ham United defender Tony Gale has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane is "worth more" than the world's most expensive footballer Neymar.
The Brazilian attacker went into the history books when he moved from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer for close to £200m.
Reports have emerged in Spain claiming that Real Madrid are considering launching a £177m bid for the England international, who has scored 13 goals for club and country in September alone.
Gale believes that Spurs would only consider selling in order to cover the cost of their new ground, but has insisted that the club need to keep hold of their key player.
"The temptation is that if they sell him, that will pay for the new stadium, but you want the best players to play in the new stadium and he's one of the best strikers in the world at the moment," Sky Sports News quotes Gale as saying.
"They'd be mad to sell him, you've got to build everything around him and give him what Real Madrid would pay him. I think he's worth more than Neymar. Harry's got goals in him and goals are the thing."
It has been reported that Tottenham will not entertain any offers for Kane amid speculation about Real Madrid's interest.
