Bolton Wanderers chairman Phil Gartside has apologised to his Tottenham Hotspur counterpart Daniel Levy over comments that he made linking Harry Redknapp to the England job.
Gartside, who is also a Football Association board member, recently claimed in a BBC interview that Redknapp would make an "outstanding" manager of the national team.
"I've been quoted out of context and had an apology from the BBC and have apologised to Daniel. I was giving my personal view of how I rate Harry," he said.
Spurs were recently backed by the Premier League on a proposal to ban Redknapp being asked about the vacant position.
