Harry Kane can equal Mohamed Salah's Premier League goalscoring record when Tottenham Hotspur face Aston Villa on Saturday.
Kane has found the net in 23 separate Premier League matches this season, just one short of Salah's record of 24 for a 38-game season, set back in 2017-18.
Only Erling Braut Haaland's extraordinary record-breaking season will prevent Kane from claiming a fourth Premier League Golden Boot, as the England captain has 26 goals for the season, nine behind Haaland, but six ahead of Ivan Toney in third.
The 29-year-old's goals have been decisive too, and he could set an outright record should he claim the only goal in a 1-0 victory here.
Five of Spurs' 1-0 wins this season have seen Kane score the solitary goal - only James Beattie and Eric Cantona have matched this record in the Premier League era, so Kane will hold the record himself should he repeat the feat here.
Spurs' recent away form makes this unlikely though, as the side have taken just two points from their last six matches on the road.
Villa represent a tough challenge for Tottenham too, as Unai Emery's side have won five games in a row at Villa Park, all without conceding. body check tags ::
