Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that midfielder Tom Huddlestone will undergo a second operation on his ankle on Friday.
The 25-year-old has not played for Spurs since August after he suffered an ankle problem and will now have to have surgery for the second time following his first operation in October last year.
A statement on the club's official website said: "The midfielder has progressed well since his initial surgery, with the specialist determining that the anticipated reconstruction of a lateral ankle ligament is the next step towards the England international making a return to full fitness."
The playmaker was linked with a switch to Fulham during the January transfer window, but an approach never came to fruition.
