Tottenham Hotspur defender Younes Kaboul has been ruled out of action for four months due to injury.
The centre-back underwent successful surgery on his knee, and now faces a period of rehabilitation that could see him miss the rest of 2012.
Kaboul missed Euro 2012 with a knee injury, but returned to play all 90 minutes of Spurs' opening-day win over Newcastle United.
However, the defender missed the 1-1 draw with West Bromwich Albion a week later, and took to Twitter to reveal the extent of his injury.
"Morning all, surgery done with success. Now looking forward for my rehab. I thank you all for your great support as usual! #comingbackstronger," tweeted Kaboul.
"Sorry I forgot to mention how long...Should be 4 months."
Kaboul's injury could have an impact on Tottenham's decision whether or not to sell Michael Dawson to Queens Park Rangers.
