Harry Kane insists that Tottenham Hotspur and England teammate Dele Alli will "improve his discipline" over time.

Harry Kane has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur teammate Dele Alli will become more disciplined the older he gets.

The 21-year-old will miss England's World Cup qualifier against Slovenia on Thursday as he will serve a one-match ban for making an offensive gesture on the pitch.

The former MK Dons player raised his middle finger during the Three Lions' 2-1 win over Slovakia last month, and even though FIFA was satisfied that he did not direct the salute at the referee, the world governing body still felt that his actions warranted punishment.

During his pre-match press conference, Kane, who will captain England at Wembley this week, told reporters: "I think Dele Alli will improve his discipline. The older and wiser he gets this stuff probably won't happen.

"He is a fiery character, he wants to win on and off the pitch, but he is only 21 and we forget that sometimes. He will keep his head down and I'm sure everything will be fine."

The midfielder will be available for England's final qualifier against Lithuania.
