Harry Kane has claimed that he is ready to become a key player for Tottenham Hotspur after scoring his first Premier League goal earlier this week.
The 20-year-old forward found the net in the 5-1 thrashing of Sunderland on Monday night, and he believes that now is the time to take the chances given to him by head coach Tim Sherwood.
"People think I am a bit older but a first Premier League goal for Tottenham at 20 is not bad," Kane told the Tottenham Journal. "Hopefully I can push on now.
"I've been waiting for the opportunity to get the start. It was great to get the goal and hopefully I can push on and get a few more.
"If you can do it in the Premier League you can do it pretty much anywhere. Hopefully I will get a few more chances and a few more goals."
Kane could be playing under a different manager next season if reports of Sherwood's impending departure are accurate.
