Former England defender Phil Neville predicts "uproar" if Spurs striker Harry Kane does not get picked for the next Three Lions squad.

Former England defender Phil Neville has claimed that there will be "uproar" if Harry Kane does not get picked for the next Three Lions squad.

The Tottenham Hotspur striker has been in fine form, scoring 24 goals in all competitions this season, but national manager Roy Hodgson has claimed that the 21-year-old is not guaranteed a place in the squad.

Neville told BBC Sport: "It's funny with Harry Kane - you would say with real great players they have one great attribute that is maybe nine out of 10, but Kane has level attributes across the board, maybe sevens or eights.

"Dedication and hard work are the basis any young professional should have. Chris Ramsey said you couldn't get him off the training ground.

"If Harry Kane doesn't get picked in next England squad there will be uproar. Not just in the squad but a starting place too."

Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck, Saido Berahino and Rickie Lambert were the strikers named in the last England squad, while Liverpool's Daniel Sturridge is available for selection once again following a long injury battle.
