Tottenham Hotspur head coach Mauricio Pochettino has suggested that Harry Kane's hat-trick against Bournemouth is "very important" for the striker.
The 22-year-old had scored just one goal in 13 appearances this season before finding the net on three occasions as Spurs thrashed Bournemouth 5-1 at Dean Court this afternoon, and Pochettino believes that Kane will learn from the experience.
"[I'm] very pleased, we never had doubts about him," Pochettino told reporters at a press conference after the match.
"It's a very important hat-trick for him, and it's important for him to learn about that period - the good and the bad in football. I'm happy because he'll now become a much better player after this period."
Spurs' victory on the South Coast was their first win in three Premier League games, and Pochettino admits that he was relieved to see his side return to winning ways.
"All the squad was very happy in the changing room, and I think it's fantastic because we conceded a lot of draws in the last few games, we needed a victory - the three points - to see us up the table and fight for important things in the future," Pochettino added.
Tottenham Hotspur will take on Aston Villa in their next Premier League fixture on Monday, November 2.
