Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino claims that the penalty awarded against his side in their 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace 'changed the game'.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has said that the penalty awarded against his side changed the game after they lost 2-1 to Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Referee Anthony Taylor awarded the Eagles a penalty when Benjamin Stambouli was adjudged to have fouled Joe Ledley.

Striker Dwight Gayle scored from the spot to level the scores after Harry Kane had given Spurs the lead, before Jason Puncheon scored Palace's winner.

Pochettino told reporters: "After I think 65 minutes we were in control of the game, the penalty changed it all, the energy, it changed it all.

"The decision, maybe it wasn't a penalty and is key to the result. From my dugout it's difficult to give my opinion but my players say he never touched the player.

"Harry Kane's [penalty shout] was the same as the penalty for Crystal Palace. Difficult to see from my position, but one against us and though we conceded another goal, maybe it's important this decision."

Tottenham's defeat was their first in the Premier League since losing to Chelsea in December.
