Harry Redknapp has praised Louis Saha after the striker struck twice on his full Tottenham Hotspur debut.
Redknapp claimed that Spurs have a "real player" on their hands, as long as they can keep Saha fit.
The Frenchman's ability has never been in question, but the striker has struggled to keep fit in recent years as a result of various injuries.
Redknapp is delighted to have signed Saha and he feels that the player could prove to be an excellent piece of business as Spurs pursue the Premier League title.
Speaking after the 5-0 win over Newcastle United, Redknapp said: "I took a chance playing him today.
"We took him on a short-term contract and some people looked at it and well... I always thought he was a top player. He's got fantastic ability. If he can stay fit, you've got a real player on your hands for nothing.
"It's just a case of keeping him fit because he's a fantastic talent in my opinion."
Saha, who has had spells at Newcastle, Fulham, Manchester United and Everton, has scored 137 goals in English football.
