Loic Remy scored twice in front of the watching Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp as Marseille beat Lille 2-0 at the Stade Velodrome.
The Spurs boss had flown out to France to scout the French international.
Redknapp is believed to have been tracking the 25-year-old since last season.
Marseille are currently sixth in the Ligue 1 table.
