Serge Aurier has warned Kieran Trippier that he is ready to fight to be Tottenham Hotspur's first-choice right-back during the 2018-19 campaign.
Aurier joined Tottenham from Paris Saint-Germain last summer, and had been tipped to replace Trippier in the right-sided full-back position during the 2017-18 season.
Trippier made 21 Premier League appearances to Aurier's 16 last term, however, before the England international impressed at the 2018 World Cup.
Despite Trippier's current standing, Aurier has insisted that he can become Mauricio Pochettino's first-choice right-back as Spurs prepare for the new campaign in the United States.
"Now is my time. I have to take my chance. If I play good, the gaffer has a choice. That is football. You push. You don't stop. For now Trippier is on holiday and this is my moment to take my chance," the Daily Mail quotes Aurier as saying.
"I am happy for Tripps. I sent him a message for the semi-final and for the World Cup. I said congratulations for your World Cup. It's good competition for me. Not bad. Now I am ready."
Tottenham will begin their preparations for the new campaign with a pre-season clash against Roma on Wednesday night.
