Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly aiming to hold talks with Julian Nagelsmann following the German's shock sacking from Bayern Munich.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly hoping to hold talks with soon-to-be former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann amid continued uncertainty surrounding Antonio Conte's future.

On Thursday evening, reports emerged claiming that Nagelsmann was set to be given the boot by Bayern, who are planning to bring in Thomas Tuchel in his place.

The 35-year-old took over at the Allianz Arena in the summer of 2021 after leaving RB Leipzig, and his contract at the Allianz Arena is not due to expire until 2026.

However, Bayern chiefs have apparently been left underwhelmed by Nagelsmann's tenure in charge, and the German was informed during a meeting on Friday that his time was up.

Bayern had reportedly sought the services of Tuchel - who was sacked by Chelsea last year - for some time, but Nagelsmann will not be short of job offers despite his sacking.

According to The Telegraph, Tottenham are now planning to discuss the manager's job in North London with Nagelsmann, who is said to have a soft spot for the Lilywhites.

The report claims that Tottenham's interest in Nagelsmann stretches back to 2021, when Daniel Levy identified him as an ideal candidate to succeed Jose Mourinho.

However, Bayern swooped in to bring the 35-year-old to Munich from Leipzig, as Tottenham instead prised Nuno Espirito Santo away from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

While Nagelsmann has continued to develop his managerial skills in Germany, the ex-Hoffenheim boss apparently owned a Tottenham shirt, having kept a close eye on the team's progress under Mauricio Pochettino.

It is not clear whether the German would be willing to jump straight back into management, though, and Ryan Mason could be placed in interim charge of Tottenham if Conte is sacked in the international break.

Nagelsmann prepares to leave Bayern having won 60, drawn 14 and lost 10 of his 84 matches in charge of the club, winning one Bundesliga title and two German Super Cups in that time.

The reigning German champions are into the quarter-finals of the Champions League - where they will take on Manchester City - but they sit one point behind Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga table, having lost 2-1 to Bayer Leverkusen last time out.

Tottenham manager Conte, who is out of contract at the end of the season, is widely expected to be sacked in the coming days or weeks in the wake of his incendiary rant towards his "selfish" players during an explosive press conference.

The Italian had witnessed his side let a two-goal lead slip in a 3-3 draw with Southampton, leaving them just two points clear of Newcastle United - who have two games in hand - in fourth place.

Tuchel was also tipped to take over in North London, but a lack of Champions League football would have hindered Spurs' chances of hiring the German. body check tags ::
