Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Yves Bissouma has been released with no further action following allegations of sexual assault.
The 25-year-old - who arrived in North London in a £35m deal from Brighton & Hove Albion earlier this summer - was arrested outside a Brighton nightclub last October alongside another man.
Bissouma was released under investigation and continued to represent Brighton while Sussex Police continued their enquiries, and he was permitted to compete for Mali at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Tottenham did not publicly comment on the matter following Bissouma's arrival at the club, but the midfielder has now been cleared of the accusations, while the other man in his 40s remains under investigation.
A statement released by Sussex Police to the Daily Mail read: "A man in his 40s from Brighton who was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault has had his conditional bail extended until July 4, 2022.
"A man in his 20s, also from Brighton, who was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault has been released with no further action to be taken. The investigation is ongoing and no additional information is available at this time."
Bissouma has followed Fraser Forster and Ivan Perisic to Hotspur Way in the current window and amassed six goals and three assists in 124 appearances for Brighton during a four-year spell. body check tags ::
