Sports Mole rates the individual performances of those involved in Leicester City's 1-1 draw with Tottenham.

Leicester City saw their winning start to the new Premier League season come to an end on Saturday as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Tottenham Hotspur.

It was Spurs who took the lead on 80 minutes when substitute Dele Alli headed in Nacer Chadli's cross at the back post.

However, the home side earned themselves a share of the spoils just 90 seconds later thanks to Riyad Mahrez's spectacular strike past Hugo Lloris.

Here, Sports Mole rates the individual performances of those involved at the King Power Stadium.

Leicester

Goal

Kasper Schmeichel: A mostly solid display from the Foxes shotstopper. Could do little about Dele Alli's goal 10 minutes from time. (7/10)

Defence

Ritchie de Laet: Got up and down the flank with plenty of enthusiasm while also performing his defensive duties diligently. (7/10)

Robert Huth: Played a key role in a Leicester defence that isolated Harry Kane. Headed and blocked with his usual robustness. (7/10)

Wes Morgan: Worked well alongside Huth in the centre of the home side's defence. Gave the visitors no quarter when they tried to penetrate. (6/10)

Jeffrey Schlupp: Impressed the most at the back for Leicester with his athleticism and focus. Was rarely upstaged by any of Tottenham's attackers. (8/10)

Midfield

Riyad Mahrez: A superb display from the winger, who twisted and turned the Tottenham defence inside out with his pace and trickery. Got his reward late on by scoring a spectacular goal. (9/10)

Andy King: A subdued afternoon for the midfielder. Did not show enough mettle in a key area of the pitch. (6/10)

Danny Drinkwater: Similar to King, Drinkwater needed to be more dynamic in central midfield. Not doing so allowed Spurs to take control. (6/10)

Marc Albrighton: An inconsistent afternoon for the winger, though there were times when he had the Spurs defence worried with his speed and directness. (6/10)

Attack

Shinji Okazaki: Was forced out of the game for large periods as Leicester were reduced to counter-attacking football. Still, his positional play was admirable. (6/10)

Jamie Vardy: Worked tirelessly for the Leicester cause. Spearheaded their attack with his pace and movement. (7/10)

Substitutes

N'Golo Kante: Was not afraid to put himself about after coming on with around 12 minutes left. (6/10)

Gokhan Inler: Did not have a huge amount of time to impress, but he adapted to the pace of the game quickly on his debut. (6/10)

Leonardo Ulloa: Had about a minute to make something happen and failed to do so. (5/10)

Tottenham

Goal

Hugo Lloris: Was well beaten for Leicester's equaliser, but came to the rescue for Spurs late on with a point-blank save to deny Wes Morgan. (7/10)

Defence

Kyle Walker: Failed to keep his level of performance up for 90 minutes. Looked good down the right at times, though this did not happen enough from a Tottenham perspective. (6/10)

Jan Vertonghen: Another unconvincing display from the Belgian, who was lucky not to give away a penalty in the first half when he chopped down Riyad Mahrez. (6/10)

Toby Alderweireld: Looked slightly more composed than Vertonghen, though Alderweireld also had his shaky moments. (6/10)

Ben Davies: Struggled to get involved in the match as the visitors opted to do most of their attacking down the right. (6/10)

Midfield

Eric Dier: Did not always give the air of someone who is used to playing in midfield. Had a decent chance to put Spurs ahead in the first half, but instead he nodded over. (6/10)

Ryan Mason: Despite a lack of fitness, the young midfielder looked hungry for the ball and tried to make things happen for his side. (7/10)

Mousa Dembele: Tottenham's best player in the first half thanks to a lively performance from midfield. Faded after the break and was eventually taken off. (8/10)

Erik Lamela: The enigmatic winger had one of his quiet days. Never really got going and failed to offer Kane much support up front. (5/10)

Nacer Chadli: Was almost non-existent in the first half before coming alive in the second. That said, this was still an insipid showing from the Belgian. (6/10)

Attack

Harry Kane: Cut a lonely figure in attack. Was starved of service and found it difficult to make anything happen for his side. To his credit, Kane continued to battle until the final whistle. (6/10)

Substitutes

Dele Alli: Got stuck in when he came off the bench with 25 minutes left and made an impact by giving Tottenham the lead with a well-taken header. (7/10)

Tom Carroll: Was a largely peripheral presence during the final 15 minutes. (6/10)

Nabil Bentaleb: Did not do much of note during his brief cameo appearance at the end of the game. (5/10)
