Harry Kane scores deep into second-half injury time to rescue a 2-2 draw for Tottenham Hotspur against West Ham United at White Hart Lane.

Harry Kane salvaged a point for Tottenham Hotspur as his goal deep into injury time earned Spurs a 2-2 draw against West Ham United at White Hart Lane.

Danny Rose had previously replied to strikes from Cheikhou Kouyate and Diafra Sakho as the hosts produced another late comeback to deny their London rivals.

The home side came flying out of the blocks as Nabil Bentaleb unleashed a powerful 25-yard strike that seemed destined for the top corner until Adrian threw out a hand to turn the ball over the top.

It was Kane who came closest to breaking the deadlock when he latched on to Rose's punt forwards and beat Adrian to the ball with a clever flick, but the ball came back off the outside of the post.

Mauricio Pochettino's side were then made to pay for their wastefulness when the Hammers took the lead on 22 minutes through Senegalese midfielder Kouyate.

The goal was created by the hard-working Aaron Cresswell, whose clever cross from the left of the Spurs box found Kouyate to power a header firmly beyond Hugo Lloris.

Cresswell created an opportunity for the Hammers to double their lead when his ball found Enner Valencia, but Lloris was alert to the danger and smothered the striker's effort.

Pochettino introduced Christian Eriksen for Moussa Dembele at half time, but it was West Ham who carved out the first clear-cut chance of the second half when Sakho tested Lloris at his near post.

However, Sakho did not have to wait long to make amends for his miss as he doubled his side's lead on 62 minutes, firing home Mark Noble's cross from a tight angle at the back post.

Lloris then had to be at his best to stop Sam Allardyce's team from increasing their lead even further when he reacted quickly to keep Valencia's effort out five minutes later.

Kane thought that he had dragged Spurs back into the game when he fired home at the second attempt from Erik Lamela's deflected shot, but the goal was ruled out for offside.

Rose did pull one back for Spurs when his mishit effort bounced off the turf and over Adrian, after the West Ham goalkeeper had failed to effectively deal with a short corner.

It seemed that substitute Roberto Soldado could have rescued Spurs a point late on, but Adrian redeemed himself with an acrobatic save to deny the Spanish striker and seemingly send all three points back to Upton Park.

However, deep into injury time, Spurs were awarded a penalty when Alex Song felled Kane in the box.

The striker then saw Adrian keep his penalty out, but reacted quickest to fire home the rebound and earn Spurs a precious draw that keeps alive their hunt for a top-four finish.
