Stoke City score twice inside the final 15 minutes to secure a 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane.

Stoke City scored twice inside the final 15 minutes to earn a 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane in the Premier League this afternoon.

Jack Butland had to make a couple of early saves as Christian Eriksen came close to opening the scoring, unleashing a shot from inside the box before testing the keeper with a free kick.

Stoke could have broken the deadlock down the other end a few minutes later as Mame Biram Diouf tried to convert from a Hugo Lloris clearance, but the Spurs stopper made a diving save to keep it out.

The home side did find the back of the net less than 20 minutes in when Eriksen crossed the ball in from a corner, leaving Eric Dier with a header at the far post.

Harry Kane also put the ball in before the break, but the offside flag was up against the striker, resulting in his finish being chalked off.

Mauricio Pochettino's side did make it two in first-half injury time though as Ben Davies crossed the ball in for Nacer Chadli, deflecting the ball in off Erik Pieters just moments after Lloris had denied Diouf again.

Butland was under pressure again early in the second half as Tottenham tried to put the win beyond doubt, with Kane trying his luck from distance, but the keeper made the stop.

Stoke were on the charge down the other end as the visitors looked for a way back into the tie, with Pieters picking out Jonathan Walters with a low cross, but his strike was just wide.

There was a blow for Spurs with 25 minutes remaining as Kane went off, spending the remainder of the match with an ice pack on his leg on the bench.

He was replaced by Erik Lamela, who could have made it three soon after his introduction when he tried to convert on the rebound after Butland had stopped a Mousa Dembele effort, but Pieters was back on the line to make the clearance.

Stoke were back in the match with just over 10 minutes go though as Toby Alderweireld brought down Joselu in the box, leaving Marko Arnautovic to rifle the ball in from the spot.

The Potters' fightback continued as they added a second just five minutes later to level the scores, heading in from a Steven Ireland cross from close range.

Stoke could have snatched all three points late on when Arnautovic appeared to be in again, but Lloris was on hand to secure the point for Spurs.
