Tottenham Hotspur were held to a goalless draw during a pre-season friendly at Colchester United this evening.
Newly re-signed goalkeeper Sam Walker was tested in the opening stages with Andros Townsend creating some early chances for the visitors, but the Chelsea loanee was able to keep them out.
Freddie Sears had a chance for the hosts towards the end of the first half, but his shot went well wide of Brad Friedel's goal.
Colchester were quick to test substitute keeper Hugo Lloris, but the Frenchman was able to get a hand to Sanchez Watt's strike, before blocking an attempt from Sears moments later.
Andre Villas-Boas's side immediately countered, with Harry Kane testing Walker before a rebound effort from Jermain Defoe flew well high of the crossbar.
Kane looked to have Walker beaten later in the second half, but the teenager's shot was kept out by the post.
The Premier League side continued to create chances in the final 15 minutes, but were unable to find the winning goal.
