Son Heung-Min scores an 89th-minute winner to snatch all three points for Tottenham Hotspur against 10-man Watford in the Premier League.

Tottenham Hotspur substitute Son Heung-Min scored an 89th-minute winner to snatch all three points against 10-man Watford in this afternoon's Premier League match at Vicarage Road.

Spurs saw plenty of the ball in the early stages and scored with their first shot of the match.

Craig Cathcart was dispossessed on the halfway line and Harry Kane set Erik Lamela away. The Argentine ran at the Hornets' backline before picking out the far corner with a disguised finish that went through Miguel Britos's legs.

Spurs seemed comfortable having taken the lead but they were pegged back five minutes before the interval and it was a familiar name on the scoresheet.

For the sixth Premier League game in a row, Odion Ighalo found the net, stabbing low under Hugo Lloris after he had outmuscled Eric Dier in the area.

In total, Ighalo has scored 30 league goals in 2015, more than any other player in England's top four divisions.

Chances were hard to come by throughout the match and Kane spurned a rare Tottenham opening by nodding wide with a stooping header before the advantage swung in the visitors' favour.

Watford were reduced to 10 men in the 62nd minute as Nathan Ake saw red for a high challenge on Erik Lamela that Anthony Taylor deemed dangerous.

That decision saw the temperature level of the match raised, but still there was little being created in either penalty area.

Spurs' winner arrived in the penultimate minute of normal time, but it was almost Watford who scored the third goal moments before at the other end.

Ben Watson's inswinging corner was clawed out by Hugo Lloris and goal-line technology replays showed that it was only millimetres from crossing the line.

Spurs charged down the other end and Son flicked home inventively from Kieran Trippier's cross after Heurelho Gomes was only able to punch the full-back's initial delivery straight back to him.

As it stands, Spurs are up to third, three points behind leaders Leicester City, while Watford stay seventh and miss the chance to move level on points with Mauricio Pochettino's men.
