Team News: Tottenham Hotspur make four changes for Wolverhampton Wanderers clash

Ange Postecoglou makes four changes to the Tottenham Hotspur XI for Saturday's Premier League fixture with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Head coach Ange Postecoglou has made four changes to the Tottenham Hotspur XI for Saturday's Premier League fixture against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

On Monday night, Spurs suffered a 4-1 defeat at home to Chelsea, yet the consequences were far deeper due to red cards and injuries.

Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie were each sent off and Micky van de Ven sustained a hamstring injury, resulting in three alterations needing to be made to the backline.

Eric Dier and the returning Ben Davies will form the central parternship, while Emerson Royal is selected at left-back with Pedro Porro being passed fit on the opposite flank.

James Maddison also misses out with an ankle injury that, like with Van de Ven, is expected to keep them sidelined until 2024, and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has got the nod in his place.

Meanwhile, Gary O'Neil has opted to make two alterations to the Wolves team that started the 2-1 defeat at Sheffield United last weekend.

Jean-Ricner Bellegarde is selected in the final third having scored as a substitute at Bramall Lane, with Sasa Kalajdzic dropping down to the substitutes' bench.

There is also a switch in midfield with Joao Gomes returning to take the spot of Tommy Doyle, who is also selected as a replacement.

While it is plausible that Wolves could operate with a three-man midfield with Bellegarde in a central position, it appears more likely that he will be deployed on one of the flanks, a result of Pedro Neto being ruled out with a hamstring injury.

Wolverhampton Wanderers: Sa; Semedo, Kilman, Dawson, Toti, Ait-Nouri; Lemina, Gomes, Bellegarde; Hwang, Cunha

Subs: Bentley, Doherty, Traore, Silva, H.Bueno, Kalajdzic, Jonny, Doyle, Sarabia

Tottenham Hotspur: Vicario; Porro, Royal, Dier, Davies; Hojbjerg, Bissouma, Sarr; Kulusevski, Son, Johnson

Subs: Forster, Dorrington, Phillips, Skipp, Bentancur, Lo Celso, Gil, Donley, Veliz body check tags ::
