Sports Mole rounds up some of the latest Aston Villa transfer rumours, including speculation over the futures of John McGinn, Danny Ings, Douglas Luiz and Moise Kean.

Aston Villa have been among the busiest clubs already in this summer's transfer window, splashing the cash to bring in four players.

Philippe Coutinho has made his loan move permanent, while Villa have also pulled off deals for Diego Carlos, Robin Olsen and highly-rated free agent Boubacar Kamara.

However, their business is not thought to be completed just yet, with Steven Gerrard desperate to bolster his squad further with a view to improving their 14th-placed finish from 2021-22.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up some of the latest transfer rumours surrounding the Midlands outfit.

INCOMINGS

Coutinho's arrival may not be the only attacking one at Villa Park this summer, with Calciomercato reporting that Moise Kean is on their radar.

The Italian is still contracted to Everton, but has only played six games for the Toffees since the 2019-20 campaign, spending the vast majority of the last two seasons at Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus respectively.

Juventus have an obligation to buy the 22-year-old this summer, but he is understood to be deemed surplus to requirements by manager Massimiliano Allegri, despite making 42 appearances across all competitions last season.

The Old Lady could therefore look to cash in on Kean immediately after signing him, with Aston Villa one of the clubs credited with an interest having reportedly enquired about his services.

Kean could prove to be a long-term signing at Villa Park, and Villa are also looking to the future with 16-year-old Rory Wilson from Gerrard's former club Rangers.

The highly-rated youngster has previously been linked with the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United, but Aston Villa are understood to have won the race, with terms already agreed.

Wilson, who scored 49 goals for Rangers' and Scotland's youth teams in 2021-22, has rejected an offer from Rangers, and the Daily Mail claims that he will join Villa on July 1.

However, the two clubs must first agree on a compensation fee, and the report claims that they are some way away from coming to terms on a valuation.

Continuing the theme of targeting young strikers, West Ham United prospect Sonny Perkins has also been linked with a move to Villa Park.

The 18-year-old made three appearances for the senior side last season, and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claims that both Villa and Leeds United have opened talks with him.

Gerrard is also keen to bolster his defensive ranks, with a new left-back high on the agenda after Matt Targett joined Newcastle United on a permanent basis.

The Mirror claims that Nantes full-back Quentin Merlin is one of the players on their shortlist after the 20-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough season last term.

OUTGOINGS

While Villa are focused mainly on strengthening their squad this summer, they could also face a fight to keep hold of some of their key players.

The Daily Mail reports that Gerrard is expecting interest in John McGinn, who has been a regular for the club since joining while they were in the Championship in 2018-19.

Tottenham Hotspur are among the clubs thought to be interested in McGinn, while Manchester United have also been linked with the Scot in the past.

McGinn's midfield partner Douglas Luiz has also been repeatedly linked with a move away from the club, with his exit considered more likely than that of McGinn.

Kamara's arrival has raised further questions over the future of the Brazilian, who has been linked with a move to Roma.

However, the Italian outfit have since moved to sign Nemanja Matic, which could end their interest in Luiz, although there are other clubs thought to be interested.

One of those could be Juventus, with a possible swap deal between Luiz and Kean among the options touted.

The future of Danny Ings has also been the subject of increasing speculation, with recent reports suggesting that the former Liverpool man was an option that Manchester United were looking at.

However, despite previous claims that Villa could be willing to consider offers for the striker, Sky Sports News reports that they have no intention of selling him this summer.

Trezeguet is understood to be on the club's transfer list, though, having spent the second half of last season on loan at Istanbul Basaksehir.

The Egyptian scored six goals and created three more in 13 outings in that productive spell, which has led to interest from another Turkish club in Trabzonspor.

Fabrizio Romano claims that the newly-crowned Turkish Super Lig champions have lodged an opening bid for the 27-year-old, although they are expected to face competition from Turkish rivals as well as other clubs around Europe. body check tags ::
