The agent of Tottenham Hotspur's latest signing Radu Dragusin has claimed that he sees the defender securing a future move to Real Madrid.
Spurs announced on Thursday evening that the 21-year-old has completed his transfer to North London from Serie A side Genoa for a reported €25m (£21.5m) plus potential add-ons.
Dragusin has penned a six-and-a-half-year deal which will keep him at Tottenham until 2030, and the defender has become the club's second signing of the January window after Timo Werner, who has joined on loan from RB Leipzig.
The Romania's agent Florin Manea has admitted that he was in disbelief when Tottenham's new No.6 turned down the chance to sign for Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich in order to finalise his transfer to Ange Postecoglou's side.
Manea has now risked the wrath of the Spurs faithful after suggesting that his client's switch to the Premier League club could be used as a stepping stone to a future transfer to Real Madrid or La Liga rivals Barcelona.
"I was looking at a picture from when we started together at Juve, I was looking at how skinny he was," Manea told Romanian news outlet Digisport.
"We are only at the beginning of the road, we want them to reach the best clubs in the world.
"We were close, Bayern is among the biggest clubs, but his dream is Real or Barcelona.
"If he was 23-24 years old and had more experience, maybe he would have decided to go to Bayern, but I also took into account the age, and the competition, I took into account many things.
"In three or four years I see him at Real Madrid."
Dragusin began his professional career with Juventus, but he made just four appearances for the club before joining Genoa on an initial loan deal in the summer of 2022.
The 13-cap Romania international made his switch to I Rossoblu permanent in January last year and made a total of 62 first-team appearances for the club in all competitions, establishing himself as one of the brightest young defenders in Serie A.
Dragusin, who could make his Tottenham debut against Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday, was identified as a primary target by Spurs this month as Postecoglou has been short of options in the centre-back department this season, with full-backs Emerson Royal and Ben Davies filling in for injured duo Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero.
Eric Dier, meanwhile, was deemed surplus to requirements by Postecoglou and has now completed an initial loan move to Bayern until the end of the season following a nine-and-a-half-year spell in North London. body check tags ::
