Inter Milan are reportedly hopeful that Tottenham Hotspur attacker Christian Eriksen will be in the stands for their Serie A clash with Cagliari next weekend.
The Italian giants continue to be linked with a move for the Denmark international, who will see his contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium expire at the end of the season.
Inter are free to hold talks with the playmaker over a move this summer but would have to agree a fee with Spurs in order to sign him before the end of the January transfer window.
According to Corriere dello Sport, following discussions between the two clubs, Inter feel that a breakthrough will soon arrive, allowing Eriksen to be in the stands for the clash against Cagliari on January 26.
Manchester United and Real Madrid were both strongly linked with the 27-year-old over the summer, but Antonio Conte's side have emerged as the strong favourites during the January window.
Eriksen continues to be involved for Spurs despite the speculation surrounding his future and appeared as a second-half substitute during his team's 0-0 draw with Watford on Saturday afternoon.
