RB Leipzig's sporting director Markus Krosche has confirmed that Tottenham Hotspur are interested in a deal for Marcel Sabitzer.
The Austria international starred against Spurs last season when Leipzig dumped Jose Mourinho's side out of the Champions League and has been linked with a move to North London since.
Sabitzer himself is said to be interested in a switch to the English capital, and the 26-year-old could reportedly be available for a sum of £45m with 18 months left to run on his Leipzig deal.
Speaking to Bild specifically about Tottenham's reported interest in Sabitzer, Krosche responded: "As I said, he has made a great development. It goes without saying that other clubs also notice this.
"We wanted to end the year first, both sides will deal more intensively with the topic in the spring. I don't like singling out anyone individually. But Marcel Sabitzer has really developed well.
"I also deal with him outside of the field. He accepts the role of captain extremely well and has matured even further as an individual."
Sabitzer has scored three goals and set up three more for Leipzig in the 2020-21 campaign.
