Real Madrid are understood to be considering a £200m bid for Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane, in an attempt to bring him to the Santiago Bernabeu as the world's most expensive player.
The Sunday Times reports that Madrid are solely focused on the Spurs forward, and will exceed the current transfer record - held by Paris Saint-Germain for the acquisition of Neymar - in order to land his signature.
According to the newspaper, Kane, who is Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy's top priority in his vision for the club, is one of several players to be tied down to extended contracts with the club in the near future.
The England international is currently earning £120,000 per week at Spurs, but could be given an £80,000 pay rise if the club can fend off interest from the Spanish giants.
Madrid president Florentino Perez is keen on rebuilding his team's frontline, with Neymar, Robert Lewandowski and Eden Hazard all coveted by the club.
