The proposed transfer of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Luka Modric to Real Madrid is said to be in doubt because of Nuri Sahin's unwillingness to move in the other direction.
Los Blancos have been heavily linked with the 26-year-old Croatia international this summer and had reportedly lodged a £30m part-exchange bid for the player's services.
According to Spanish newspaper AS, Modric had agreed personal terms with the La Liga champions but the deal has now hit a brick wall as Sahin, 23, refuses to move to White Hart Lane.
The publication also reports that Madrid remain the favourites to sign Modric, as Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is not prepared to sell his prized possession to a domestic rival.
