Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly emerged as the favourites to sign Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Luka Modric.
The 26-year-old, who has been strongly linked with Real Madrid, joined up with Spurs in the United States on Tuesday after originally refusing to travel.
It is understood that Madrid are unwilling to pay above £27m for the Croatian, while Spurs will not entertain offers of less than £40m.
According to The Mirror, PSG are prepared to meet the asking price – and a move could be tied up next week.
Modric starred for Croatia at Euro 2012 this summer.
