Southampton have reportedly made a £12m bid for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Andros Townsend.
The England international, who missed the World Cup with an Achilles injury this summer, is believed to have been told that he will be allowed to leave White Hart Lane this summer.
Sky Sports News has reported this evening that the Saints have made a £12m bid for the 23-year-old.
Townsend made 33 appearances for Spurs last season, but was left out of the squad for the team's 4-0 win over Queens Park Rangers earlier today.
