Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly added Steaua Bucuresti defender Vlad Chiriches to their shortlist of summer transfer targets.
The Lillywhites have recruited Brazilian midfielder Paulinho and Belgian winger Nacer Chadli so far this summer, but manager Andre Villas-Boas is expected to carry on spending.
Chiriches has apparently been attracting attention Serie A giants Roma and Inter Milan, but talkSPORT claims that Spurs are also monitoring the 23-year-old.
Tottenham already have Jan Vertonghen, Younes Kaboul, Michael Dawson and Steven Caulker as options at centre-back, but Villas-Boas may want to bring in a replacement for departed defender William Gallas to ensure that his squad is capable of competing on all fronts next season.
Chiriches has been capped 18 times since making his debut for Romania in 2011.
