Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly prepared to go head-to-head with Manchester United for the signature of Newcastle United attacker Ayoze Perez.
The Spaniard has scored 10 Premier League goals for Newcastle since making the move to England from Tenerife in the 2014 summer transfer window.
Three of those strikes have come in the league this season and his performances are believed to have attracted the interest of Man United boss Louis van Gaal.
According to the Daily Star, however, Spurs are preparing a bid for the 22-year-old and will launch a £12m offer when the January transfer window opens.
Real Madrid are also said to be long-term admirers of the former Spanish Under-21 international.
