Tottenham Hotspur reportedly had a deal in place to sign Real Madrid midfielder Isco on loan in the summer, but pulled out in the latter stages due to the Spaniard's wage demands.
Isco was strongly linked with a move away from the Bernabeu in the summer transfer window, before ultimately confirming that he would be going nowhere on transfer deadline day.
According to El Confidential, Spurs were close to signing the 24-year-old until the end of the season, but talks broke down 'very quickly' when the Premier League side learned of Isco's demands.
The midfielder made his return from an ankle problem in the second period of Real Madrid's 2-0 victory over Espanyol in Sunday's La Liga clash in Barcelona.
