Manchester City attacker Riyad Mahrez has said that he has no interest in leaving the Etihad Stadium during this summer's transfer window.
The Algeria international was an important player for the Citizens during the 2020-21 campaign, scoring 14 times and contributing nine assists in 48 appearances in all competitions.
There have been suggestions that the 30-year-old could leave this summer, with Man City needing to sell some first-team players before pressing ahead with moves for Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane and Aston Villa's Jack Grealish.
However, Mahrez has said that he does not want to leave the Premier League champions in the current market.
"What if I want to go higher? I do not see what is higher," Mahrez told YouTube channel Oui Hustle. "To try another championship [elsewhere]? No. I really love England and English football is wonderful. I don't want to leave. I still have goals to pursue here.
"When you see [Pep] Guardiola wants you, it's flattering. The acclimatisation here was not easy, but our relationship today, everyone knows [is great]."
The Algerian has scored 39 goals and registered 37 assists in 142 appearances for Man City since arriving from Leicester City in July 2018. body check tags ::
