Rodrigo Bentancur has signed for Tottenham Hotspur on a permanent deal from Juventus, signing a contract until the summer of 2026.
The Lilywhites stole a march on Aston Villa in the race for the Uruguay international in the past few days and will reportedly fork out an initial €19m (£15.9m) for his services.
The fee could rise as high as €25m (£20.9m) with performance-related add-ons, and Bentancur joins the club just after Tanguy Ndombele's return to Lyon was confirmed.
Bentancur originally signed for Juventus from Boca Juniors in the summer of 2017, registering three goals and 18 assists in 181 appearances for the Bianconeri in all competitions.
The 24-year-old collected three Serie A titles, two Coppa Italias and two Italian Super Cup crowns during his time in Turin, and he made 13 top-flight starts for Juve in the 2021-22 season.
Bentancur also made his 46th appearance for Uruguay in their recent World Cup 2022 Qualifying win over Paraguay and will link up with his Tottenham teammates following Tuesday's clash with Venezuela.
Tottenham have also secured the signature of Bentancur's Juve teammate Dejan Kulusevski, with the Swedish attacker understood to have completed a medical this morning.
In terms of outgoings, Dele Alli is reportedly on the verge of a permanent move to Everton, while Bryan Gil and Giovani Lo Celso could also follow Ndombele out of the door before 11pm. body check tags ::
